Intro to After Effects

Adobe After Effects is a 2.5D animation software used for animation, visual effects, and motion picture compositing.

After Effects is used in film, TV, and web video creation.

This software is used in the post-production phase, and has hundreds of effects that can be used to manipulate imagery. This allows you to combine layers of video and images into the same scene.

SELF - TITLED

Self-titled is an exploration project for the students to express their own individuality and reflect their personality into digital art self-expression.

The main idea is to build up self-confidence and discover their interest.

IDEA DEVELOPMENT

My Biography 

INTRO	My name is Aliah and I’m 19 years old, currently taking Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media at Taylors University. I'm a materialistic girl since I've been spoiled by those around me, but even if some believe this is a terrible thing, I choose to view it differently. Given my personality, which values wealth and lavish living, this motivates me to put in more effort to realise all of my goals.
PARAGRAPH 1	Becoming a millionaire and starting my own business with the intention of achieving unending success and annual growth are my two main objectives. In addition, I want to grow up to be a successful, independent woman such that I won't need to rely on other people and bother them with my demands.
PARAGRAPH 2	Reading comic books and watching anime are two of my pastimes; I've had these interests since the beginning of high school.Thus, while some may consider my hobbies to be meaningless, I believe they have taught me a lot, including the importance of developing a language that allows me to fully comprehend the emotions of others. These hobbies have occasionally even helped me become a better person.
SUMMARY	To sum up, I need to start learning right away and adjust my daily schedule to be more productive. Aside from that, it's a fantastic idea for me to change in order to grow into a better person future ahead.

Artwork Statement

INTRO	My prescribed biography served as the basis for my work. It embodies my interests and individuality. I therefore intended to use this task to convey my hobbies and aspirations.
PARAGRAPH 1	Although my inner self prefers to spend quality time engaging in my hobbies, I also want to be a successful woman. If I were to become stressed, I would like to retreat and take some time to indulge in my interests.
PARAGRAPH 2	I want people to understand that I’ve found my remedy for my stressness and I actually can cope with my hardship as long as there’s a time for me to take break for a moment.
SUMMARY	Thus, my work is going to be me dress up in a formal way that kind of depicting a working woman and I’ll do some illustrator of my Anime for the background and I’m going edit my work to look like a manga cover page.

ARTIST STATEMENT: 

   In consideration of the following description of my objectives and passions, this is my finalised poster, each element of which has a distinct meaning.

    For instance, my rather professional attire serves to depict me as a working woman; thus, the background, which appears to be in the centre of the city, characterises me as a materialistic young woman who prefers a city life. 

    My anime series "Chainsaw Man" served as the inspiration for both of my concepts, and the text illustration was added to give the poster a manga-like appearance.

     Final but not least, my font from the typography assignment “Delight Shine.” The reason I chose this sentence is because I want my passion to shine and help me whenever I feel miserable or stressed.

REFLECTION

Experience

I have gained a lot of knowledge from creating the ideal poster composition to animate the poster in After Effects during this project process. Because I'm new to After Effects, I would say that making a composition is easier for me than animating it. I had to look for a YouTube video tutorial and even spoke to a friend for assistance, for which I am really appreciate.  As a result, even though I took my time and created the animation, it still lacks a lot of perspective. Still, for a novice, I'm pleased with how this turned out.

Findings 

I've discovered that planning really makes your job simpler and helps you get back on track by providing you with guidance throughout the process. I really enjoy that this project is all about ourselves since it forced me to reflect and pay closer attention to who I am. As a result, I discovered a lot of facts about myself that I was unaware of before beginning this work. This also made me recognise that, like me, not everyone is a true expert in every subject. Although I still have a long way to go, I'm improving on my terrible After Effects skills and am not at all horrible at composing compositions.

Observation

Take your time and observing other people's work around you really helps you with finding an idea or get inspired with their works.
