REFLECTION

Experience

Through out these 14 weeks of taking this module, I've gained a lot of experiences from the given tasks. Compared to Typography back in Semester 1 everything was very strict in terms of we were allowed to use only 10 fonts that were provided in the brief through out the tasks, but when it comes to Advance Typography it started with the same rules but as we were moved onto the next tasks we were freely to use any type of fonts. Thus, this gave us a more freedom as to when doing our tasks. Overall, this module has gave me a beginning practice towards my graphic design career and has gave me an ample of insights into creative processes. The hands-on projects and constructive feedback have equipped me with the skills and confidence to tackle more complex design challenges in the future.

Observation

I've observed that my work progress from the beginning until now is improving, although there's still room for improvement. I've become more adept at applying design principles and techniques, and my attention to detail has significantly increased. However, I recognize the importance of continuous learning and practice to refine my skills further. By seeking feedback, staying updated with industry trends, and experimenting with new tools and approaches, I am committed to ongoing growth and development in my graphic design journey.

Findings

I've found that there's a lot of things to consider when designing a font for branding, such as readability, consistency, and versatility across various media. Additionally, it's crucial to ensure that the font aligns with the brand's identity and evokes the desired emotional response from the audience. Balancing aesthetics with functionality, and considering factors like kerning, weight, and scalability, are also key elements in creating a successful branded font.
